Lateblooms from a Latebloomer
This work is A VISUAL POST-MORTEM LOVE LETTER/PROJECT to a MORMON MOTHER from her 55 YEAR OLD GAY SON/QUEER CHILD.
I STARTED THIS SERIES AS A WAY TO PROCESS GRIEF AND MOURNING AND LETTING GO OF THINGS WE CAN'T (OR SHOULDN'T) HOLD ON TO ANY MORE. IT SEEMS TO HAVE TRANSITIONED QUICKLY TO ADDRESSING,CELEBRATION AND SELF-CARE AND LICKING WOUNDS AND FINDING PLEASURE(S) IN PRETTY THINGS IN BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS and ever-changing colors WHILE ALSO EXPLORING DEATH, IMPERMANENCE AND FRAGILITY AS TIME, LIFE, BEAUTY (IN TERMS OF IDEALS) ARE FLEETING, Transcient w/ moments of the effervescent and exuberant in betwixt the mix of the subdued, stoic, morose and tragic AND ALWAYS IN A STATE OF FLUX AND DECAY.
